Gloria Neris León Obituary

Gloria Neris León, 74, went peacefully to be with the Lord in the early morning of February 18, 2022, after a life well lived. Gloria was born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico into a family of strong faith. Her family emigrated to Philadelphia when she was a child and they attended La Milagrosa parish, where her father led the choir.

Gloria had a strong faith from a young age, being particularly devoted to the Blessed Mother, and worked to put herself through J.W. Hallahan High School. She was a proud alumna of the Catholic high school and years later ensured that her daughters were able to attend as well. In 1973 she married her husband Miguel ("Mike") and they went on to have three children, nine grandchildren and share almost 49 years of marriage.

Always a strong woman of unwavering faith, Gloria faced her health battles of the past two years with grace and courage. In death she is reunited with her father, José Neris, her brother, Juan Neris, her sister Concepción Neris, her father-in-law Miguel Angel León Sr. and mother-in-law Juanita León. Left behind to cherish her memory are her beloved husband Mike; son Miguel León, III; daughter Julie (Eric); daughter Aimee (Enrique); 9 grandchildren; her mother, Antonia; sisters Josephine and Isabel; brothers Pedro and Miguel; sisters-in-law Connie and Vilma (Tony); brothers-in-law Nelson, Felix (Gladys) and Eddie (Norma); and countless nieces, nephews, prayer partners and friends.

The family would like to thank Main Line Health Hospice for their loving care, as well as everyone who prayed for her or visited her. The funeral Mass will be held at St. Pius Church in Broomall, PA, on Friday, February 25, at 12:30 pm, preceded by a viewing at 11:30 am.
