He was predeceased by: his son Dereck M. Brown; his brother Timothy J. Brown; his sister-in-law Brenda Brown; and his parents, Lee C. Brown and Mary Helen Brown.
He is survived by: his brothers, Joseph E. and Carl L. (Stacey Brown); and his sons, Matthew Jr. and Ryan Brown. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
