With sadness, we share the passing of Charine P. Hovanec of Butler, Pennsylvania. Charine, born on August 4, 1942, passed away on August 18, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Nicholas A. Petrarca and Carrie White Petrarca; her husband Thomas J. Hovanec; her siblings, Wayne R. Petrarca and Marsha B. Petrarca; her sister-in-law Mary H. Napolitano; and her nephew Stephen Petrarca.
She is survived by: her children, Matthew Hovanec (Colleen) of Mount Gretna and Rachel Spirer (Jeffrey) of Baden; and her grandchildren, Andrew Hackman, Matthew Hackman, Ethan Spirer and Madison Spirer. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a wealth of friends.
