She was predeceased by: her husband Milton R. Shirk; and her son James A. Shirk (Janine Klein). She is survived by: her daughter Sarah Shirk Kitlak (late Joe); her grandchildren, Nicholas Klein (Sarah), Ashley Shirk Ruggiero (Chris) and Matthew Kitlak; and her great grandchildren, Sawyer, Ryder, Luca, Lincoln and Leon.
Kay was a retired executive secretary for Exxon Mobile Corp and a longtime supporter of Pittsburgh Symphony North, Passavant Hospital Foundation, and McIntyre Garden Club.
