It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Laura Jean Brown of Butler, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 7, 2025, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Laura may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Dunlap and Sylvia Wise (McCandless); her husband Charles M. Brown Jr.; her daughter Debby Chuba; her grandson Drew Chuba; and her great grandchild Austin Weisenstein.
She is survived by: her children, Peggy Baptiste (Gary) of Butler, Kim Geagan (Bob) of Butler and Kent Brown (Lexie) of Meadville; her sister Martha Weitzel of Butler; and her sisters-in-law, Betty Dallos and Janis Noblit. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Young Funeral Home, Ltd. (127 W Jefferson St, Butler, PA 16003). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Unionville Evangelical Presbyterian Church (1114 Sunset Dr, Butler, PA 16001).
