In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact William David had on those he encountered along his journey. Though William David may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his father Ronald E. Matson; and his brother Robert E. Matson. He is survived by: his mother Mary Anne Lang Matson of Butler; his children, Ronald J. Matson of Butler and Devon Rae Matson of Pittsburgh; and his siblings, James H. Matson of Butler, Edward J. Matson (Sandy) of Butler, Thomas A. Matson (Golda) of Butler, Kathleen M. Smith (Thomas) of Butler and Michael J. Matson (Martha) of Naples, Fla.. He is also survived by one grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Martin Funeral Home (429 Center Ave, Butler, PA 16001). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church (432 Center Ave, Butler, PA 16001).
