He was predeceased by: his parents, Grace B. Cairns and William P. Cairns Sr.; and his brothers-in-law, Jack Harris and Dave Pagac. He is survived by: his sisters, Debbie Harris and Diane Pagac; his siblings' children, Christa Kuvinka (Bruce Kearns), Larry Butler (Melissa), Brianne Hall (Bill) and Megan Livengood (Craig); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Aaron Previsky, Jordan Kearns, Hailey Butler, Gavin Butler, Grayson Butler, Bella Messer, Abigail Livengood and Hannah Livengood; and his close friend Dexter.
In honor of his strength and spirit, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the ALS Association in his memory, to support continued research and care for others living with the disease.
