He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ann Burkett-Ruane; his children, Maleia A. Ruane (Kyle E. Lutz), Maddie R. Ruane (Ilias Christodoulou) and Braeden T. Ruane; his siblings, Thomas J. Ruane (Nadine) of Dunmore, Kelly A. Leisman (Edward) of Fort Myers and Trish Iellimo (Santino) of Oakmont, Pennsylvania; his nieces and nephews, Sarah, Tommy, Taylor, Patrick Ruane, Riley Kempton (Sean), Ben Velesig (Jozzie), Alex Velesig (Cheyenne), Zoey Velesig, Noah Burkett and Josiah Burkett (Gabby Ciccone-DeLuca); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Marina, Chloe Kempton, Jordan Ruane and Flynn Velesig.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. (304 W Pike St, Canonsburg, PA 15317). A prayer was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 9:45 AM at the same location. A Mass was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Oscar Romero Parish St. Patrick Church (317 W Pike St, Canonsburg, PA 15317).
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to prostate cancer research at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. Please make checks payable to the University of Pittsburgh with a memo indicating that this donation is in memory of Christopher Ruane.
