We announce the death of Maureen Zingerman of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on September 28, 2026, at the age of 78. Maureen will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Scanlon and Rita Scanlon; her sister Kathleen Fillippa; her brother-in-law John "Jack" Fillippa; and her husband Roger "Steve" Zingerman.
She is survived by: her children, Heather Nowack Stover and George "G. W." Nowack; her pet Potato McLaren Fitzgerald; her nephews, John Fillippa (Kim), Thomas Fillippa (Lori) and Patrick Fillippa (Deirdre); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Corey Fillippa (Jessica), Chelsea Fillippa (Connor), Justin Fillippa and Taylor Painter (Christian); her stepdaughters, Cheryl Zingerman (Randy) and Olivia Smith (Mike); her stepgrandchildren, Ashley, Madison, Nathan, Rebekah and Aaron; Sylvia Painter.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. (304 W Pike St, Canonsburg, PA 15317). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies (1158 Morgan Rd, Bridgeville, PA 15017).
In lieu of flowers the family would like to honor Maureen's legacy by supporting teen programming at Chartiers-Houston Community Library.
