He was predeceased by: his parents, John Martys and Harriet Martys. He is survived by: his children, Kristin Barnett and David Martys (Mary); and his siblings, John (Kathy Martys), Helen (late William Fries) and Carol (Mark Groom). He is also survived by six nieces and nephews.

Family suggests memorial contributions be made to Southwestern Human Service (non-profit) to support their various programs and Christmas toy drive.
