It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alvana Brown of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, who passed away on November 19, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father James Brooks; her husband Irvin Allan Brown; her sons, George Leroy Devenshire and Philip Leon Devenshire; and her siblings, Alex Brooks, Alzrio McDonald, Jacob Brooks, Lizzie Ross, Daskie Williams and Beresa Mayo.
She is survived by: her children, Norma "Cookie" Reeves of Carlisle and Jay Browne (Sonya) of Carlisle; her grandchildren, Philip Devenshire Jr., Yolanda "Sugar" Devenshire, Eric Clarke (Aqueelah), Jenel Laney (Willie), Jamica, Jovanna and Jenna Browne; and her brother Anderson Brooks (Josephine) of Biglerville. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.
