He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Lear and Margaret "Minnie" Lear (Kepner); his son Michael L. Lear; and his siblings, Marlin Lear and Elizabeth Gardner.
He is survived by: his children, Randy B. Lear of Carlisle, Tracy M. Rupp (Jeffrey) of Mt. Holly Springs and Kathy J. Baker (Jeremy) of Walnut Bottom; and his daughter-in-law Tracey Lear. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
