He was predeceased by: his parents, Hobert Matthews and Dorothea Baumbach (Stoner). He is survived by: his wife Bonita K. "Bonnie" Matthews (Sheaffer); his children, Dennis Matthews, Jr. (Keri) of New Jersey, Denise Mills (Brian) of Maryland and Darren Matthews (Shannon) of Perry County; and his half-siblings, Jack, Erick Matthews and Beth Miller. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
