He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Shearer and Carolyn Shearer Hoover (Hockenberry); and his stepfather John Hoover. He is survived by: his brother Robert Shearer (Carol); his sibling's children, Nicholas Shearer and Natalie Shearer; and his half-siblings, Andy Shearer, Heidi Ferry and Tammy Elliot.
