It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald Henry Byrd (Carlisle, Pennsylvania), born in Granite City, Illinois, who passed away on March 17, 2023, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Byrd and Claretta Byrd (Nolan); and his sister Marilyn Jonas. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Byrd (Brunner); his children, Jonathan (Laura) of North Carolina, Joel (Amanda) of Lancaster and Julia Byrd of Maryland; his granddaughters, Lucy, Alexandra and Maggie; and his siblings, Shawn Byrd of Oklahoma, Patricia Duncan of Kentucky, Betty Hartley of Missouri and Raeleene Rowe of Iowa.
