It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Janis F. Ackerman of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, born in Syracuse, New York, who passed away at the age of 73, on March 23, 2024. She was predeceased by : her parents, Howard Freeborn and Marjorie Freeborn; and her brother Richard Freeborn. She is survived by : her siblings, Barney Freeborn of New Woodstock, NY and JoAnn Zirbel (Bob Ackerman) of Madison, NY; her daughters, Becky Ackerman of Fort Washington, PA and Laura Ackerman Altman of Durham, NC; her grandchildren, Emma Joshua Altman, Navi Sophia Altman and Arlo Howard Stufflet; and also, Kevin Stufflet and Joel Altman.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Bosler Memorial Library children's reading programs, to Friends of the Letort, and Project Share.
