He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Calhoun and Elwyn Calhoun (Butcher). He is survived by: his wife Sandy Calhoun (Bunch); his sister Kitty; his sons, John Jr. (Emma) and Taylor (Emily); and his grandsons, Samuel, Jacob, Noah and Lexi.
