John R. Shafer Obituary

We bid farewell to John R. Shafer of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on September 17, 2025 at the age of 81. John touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold E. Shafer and Mary Jane Shafer (Morris); and his brother Harold Shafer. He is survived by: his children, Jason Shafer (Lisa Burchfield) of Shiremanstown, Misty Gidaro (Shawn Bogutskie) of Shamokin, Jessica Kuhn (Josh) of Mount Holly Springs, Genevieve Shafer (Ben Mundt) of Poughkeepsie, NY and Indigo Shafer (Noah Parslow) of Philadelphia; his siblings, Tom Shafer (Ann) of Carlisle, Barry Shafer (Cindy) of York, Bette Martin (Joe) of Newville and Nancy Judd of Virginia; and his grandchildren, Mackenzie Gidaro, Jackson Kuhn, Weston Kuhn and Finley Kuhn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
