He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester M. Thumma, and Sara F. Thumma, Sr. (Diller); and his sister Sally A. Self. He is survived by: his children, Eric A. Thumma (Courtney Lane) of Boston, MA and Emily E. McDonald (Brian) of Carlisle; his granddaughters, Iris and Ingrid McDonald; and his brother William E. Thumma of Pittsburgh, PA..
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM and at 12:00 PM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church (201 W Louther St, Carlisle, PA 17013).
