She was predeceased by: her parents, Avery Kanode and Fannie Kanode (Stern); and her daughter-in-law Joan Smith. She is survived by: her spouse Glenn Smith Sr.; her children, Glenn Smith Jr. (Mary Ann) of Carlisle, Gary Smith (Sandy) of Carlisle, Joy Thomas (Robert) of Lewes, DE and Lisa McCleaf (Bill) of Lewisberry; her grandchildren, Leah Richwine (Matthew), Mark Smith (Meggan), Tyler Smith (Alyssa), Megan Clark (Dave), Michelle Zerphey (Travis) and Ashley Thomas (Josh); and her sister Beulah Charles. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
