He was predeceased by: his father Edwin Forrest; and his brother Calvin Moyer. He is survived by: his wife Carol Moyer of Carlisle; his sons, Michael "Mike" Moyer Jr. of Carlisle and Aharon Moyer of Florida; his granddaughter Juliana Moyer of Florida; his niece Lia Koyner of Chester; and his nephew Eric Moyer of California.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Michael to The Bethesda Mission, 611 Reily St Harrisburg, PA 17102.
