He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Irene C. Hewitt (Shomo); his children, Richard L. Hewitt, Jr. of Carlisle, James M. Hewitt of Carlisle and Susan M. Baird of Pittsburgh; and his grandsons, William Robert Baird, Sean M. Baird and Travis L. Hewitt. He was also cherished by several brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews.
