He is survived by: his wife Cathy Chaplinski (Teter); his children, Stephanie Chaplinski-Kane (David) and Michael Chaplinski (Kate); his grandchildren, Aidan M. Kane, Maeve C. Kane, Anna J. Chaplinski and Peter D. Chaplinski; and his siblings, Terry L. Chaplinski (Elizabeth), Judith L, Cheri L. Mauler (Mark) and Karen Young (Barry).
