He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Dale Shaffer Sr. and Judy Ann Murphy Shaffer. He is survived by: his daughter Mary Shaffer; his stepchildren, Emma Holaren and Patrick Holaren; his girlfriend Kelly Koval; his brother Dale Shaffer Jr.; Sara Shaffer. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
