He was predeceased by: his parents, James Dallas Pitzer and Edna Sherry Pitzer. He is survived by: his wife Mary "Sue" Phariss; his children, Victoria Liberty (late Bruce Liberty) of Woodland Hills, Kristi Kielman (Michael) of Carnegie, James M. Pitzer (Nance) of Colorado Springs and Steven R. Pitzer of Los Angeles, California; his sister Marilyn Bell-Velton; and his grandson Alex Balestrero. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
