With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ned DeForrest (Carnegie, Pennsylvania), born in Three Springs, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 7, 2026 at the age of 87. As Ned departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Ned may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Ned leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Fiann DeForrest and Mary Elizabeth Cohick DeForrest; his brother Ronald C. DeForrest; and his sister-in-law Rosemarie Minella. He is survived by: his wife JoAnn DeForrest (Farinella); his sons, Ned Leon DeForrest (Lee) of Key West and Robert Fian DeForrest (Crystal Hitchings) of Cherryfield; his grandchildren, Jaina Dallas and Jad DeForrest; and his sisters-in-law, Margaret DeForrest (Peg) and Carol Jean Snell.
During Covid he reconnected with his love of drawing and produced an extraordinary amount of work over the past 6 years.
