He is survived by : his parents, Ernest James Ruffin and Deborah Townsend (Ruffin); his siblings, Robert Ruffin (Ronniqua), Andre Dwayne Ruffin, George Ruffin, Nicole Carter and Mercedes Ruffin; his children, Shawn Ruffin Jr., Shakaila Ruffin, Christopher, Shayonne Ruffin, Shakihya Ruffin, Dayshawnna Ruffin and TayShon; and his grandchildren, Nyah, Kali, Kassie, Maxine and Ja'Mair. He is also survived by aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends.
