He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. Summers and Lavonne I. Summers (Weaver); and his wife Connie B. Long. He is survived by: his children, Amanda Weaver (Kent) of Centre Hall, Wade Summers (Marlene) of Howard and Johnathan Summers (Jennifer) of Puyallup, WA; his brother David Summers (Karen); and his grandchildren, Derek, Shalena, Dillon, Violet, Bryanna and Brant. He is also survived by three great grandchildren.

Contributions in his memory may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Janet Weis Children's Hospital.
