He is survived by : his wife Ho Chin Yu; his children, Elie Yu-Yuan (Arthur Yuan), Kenneth Yu (Christopher Stahley) and Megan Yu (Patrick Thibeault); his grandchildren, Taylor Yuan and Shelby Roueche (Jeff Roueche); and his brother Jim Wei (Peggy Wei).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Dr. Ruey Jiin Yu Ph.D., O.M.D.'s memory to: Alzheimer's Association.
