Frances R. Kanagy Obituary

With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Frances R. Kanagy of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Frances left this world on November 27, 2025 at the age of 84, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel C. Yoder and Arie E. Yoder (Byler); and her husband Leon J. Kanagy. She is survived by: her daughters, Cynthia K. Witter (Kevin) of Shippensburg, Michelle L. of Chambersburg and Maxine J. Commerer (Bobby) of Shippensburg; her grandchildren, Marissa, Grant, Garrett, Shane, Katelyn and Brooke; her great grandchild Quinn; and her siblings, Beulah Kauffman of Reedsville, PA, Marlin Yoder of Buhler, KS, Raymond Yoder of Reedsville, PA and John Yoder of Buhler, KS. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, December 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Air Hill Church (7041 Cumberland Hwy, Chambersburg, PA 17202).
