He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Shira (Artz) and Martin Shira; his wife Joanne Shira (Kirkpatrick); his brother Martin Shira; and his brother-in-law Robert Huston Sr..
He is survived by: his daughters, Stephanie Metz (Jim) and Chris Schellhase (Mike); his grandchildren, Amanda Metz, Nicholas Metz (Megan), Zachary Schellhase (Trey Fossum) and Luke Schellhase; his great grandchildren, Zoe Hoover, Noah Schellhase, Naomi Schellhase, Liam Schellhase and Charli Schellhase; his siblings, Patricia Huston and Charles (Ann); and his sister-in-law Claudine Shira.
