He was predeceased by: his son John M. Groff, Jr.; and his siblings, Abram Groff, David Groff and Anna Mary Denlinger. He is survived by: his wife Caroll L. "Carly" Groff (Hostetter); his children, James Groff (Alicia) of Red Lion, PA, Jodi Reese (Michael) of Lancaster, PA, Wendy Simpson of Ephrata, PA, Wanda Darwish of Lititz, PA, Kimberly Tremper (John) of Mont Alto, PA, Carey Daveler, Jr. of Chambersburg, PA and Kristin Floyd (Steve) of Cherry Valley, IL; and his siblings, Marvin Groff of Canton, PA, Erma Leaman of Lititz, PA, Ruth Kready of Manheim, PA, Elias Groff (Evie) of Lancaster, PA and Miriam Wenger of Bradenton, FL. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Antrim Brethren in Christ Church (24 Kauffman Rd E, Chambersburg, PA 17202). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
