With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruth A. Carson of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, born in Pleasantville, Pennsylvania, who passed away on August 3, 2022 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry D. Barefoot and Elizabeth Beckley Barefoot; her husband Raymond R. Carson; her grandson Mark Carson; and her sisters, Margaret Blackburn and Lucille Barefoot.
She is survived by: her son James R. Carson (Angela) of Chambersburg; her grandsons, David Gladfelter of Chambersburg, Scott Carson and Matthew McCulloh (Fawne) of Mercersburg; her great grandchildren, Owen Carson and Chase Carson; and her brother H. Fred Barefoot of Johnstown, PA. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She knitted over 10, 000 baby hats and donated them to the Chambersburg Hospital.
