He was predeceased by : his fathers, William W. Neal and Brown (Pops); and his brothers, Wesley William Neal and Thaddeus Ronald Neal. He is survived by : his children, Lamont W. Dates Jr., Patricia A. Tyson'Dates (Tyler), Katrina N. Dates, Bryheem A. Neal'Ferguson, Tristan Aucher, Samera S. Neal'Miller (Vincent), Larace I. Neal, Jamire Neal (Shante) and Ashley Neal; and his siblings, Barbara Jean Johnson, Yvonne Vest, Gwendolyn Neal, Marva Neal, Brendette Gilbert of Chester and Lawrence J. Neal. He is also survived by 17 great-grand children. And a host of nieces and nephews.
