He was predeceased by: his parents, William Greenawalt and Margaret Lightcap Greenawalt Wagner; his wife Wilda L. "Tillie" Groves Greenawalt; and his brothers, Harvey Greenawalt, William Greenawalt and David Greenawalt.

He is survived by: his children, Dale Greenawalt (Rina) of Renfrew, Mark Greenawalt (Lisa) of Harrisville and Linda McCord (Lee) of Harrisville; his siblings, Jack Greenawalt (Lorrie), Larry Wagner (Merry), Shirley Oesterling (Cliff), Beverly Olenic (William), Janet McDonald and Debbie Wagner; and his siblings-in-law, Lloyd Groves and Carol Groves. He is also survived by six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora (339 Chicora Fenelton Rd, Chicora, PA 16025). The military honors was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 12:45 PM at the Chicora and Bradys Bend American Legion. A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora (339 Chicora Fenelton Rd, Chicora, PA 16025).
