Joan left this world on May 16, 2026 at the age of 88, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Platz and Mildred Duvall Platz; her son David Bly; her sister Lois Robinson; her granddaughter Jennifer; and her great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Johnny.
She is survived by: her husband Roland Bly; her sons, Joe Bly (Deb), Bruce Bly (Dianne), Bryan Bly (Susan), Jeff Bly (Amy), Steve Bly (Lori), Mike Bly and Greg Bly (Amber); her daughter-in-law Brenda Bly; her sister Shirley Loose (Bob); and her brothers-in-law, Leonard and William Bly. She is also survived by her 21 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
