He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Ayler Simms, Jr. and Helen Margaret Pollock Simms; and his niece Melodie Andrisko. He is survived by: his sister Mary Lou Houy of Wilson; his children, Thomas Ayler Simms, IV of Wilson and Avis Oberdan (David); his grandchildren, Nichele Canavan (Greg) of Duluth, MN, Ashley Puentes of Washington State and Devon Oberdan (Victoria) of Tucson, AZ; and his great grandchildren, Gage Canavan of Duluth, MN and Chase Birindelli of Washington State. He is also survived by great grand-daughter arriving in July, and many nieces and nephews.
