He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence B. Zeager and Ethel M. Zeager (Kreider); his brother John Zeager; and his brothers-in-law, Maurice Hertzler and John Hershey.

He is survived by: his sons, John Zeager (Linda), Jeffrey Zeager and Jeremy Zeager (Stacy); his grandchildren, Jacob, Rachael, Riley and Kellen; and his sisters, Rhoda, Ruth, Lois, Judy, Becky and Deborah. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
