He was predeceased by : his parents, Russell C. Hepler and Belma S. Brown; his siblings, Russell (LeValle), Doris (Chuck Ward) and Sally (Duane Hartle); and his brother-in-law Richard Schrecengost.

He is survived by : his wife Janet M. Schrecengost of Michael's Church; his daughters, Lana Griffin (Jim), Pamela Hockman (Rob) and Tamela Swogger (Jimmy); his grandchildren, Mistie Haag (Kurt), Janet Hockman (Zane), Alexander Swogger of Distant, PA, Logan Griffin (Mel) of Schofield Barracks, HI and Gabrielle Griffin of Tallahasshee, FL; and also Leo Schrecengost of Shippenville, PA..

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Goble Funeral Home & Crematory (330 Wood St, Clarion, PA 16214). The military honors was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
