She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Dr. Eric Barren; her parents, John Monasky and Clara Monasky (Peterka); her children, Matt (Sara), Greg (Kelly), Kim (Ryan), Andrew and Miriam; her grandsons, Bryce, Otis and Brooks; her sister Gig Kraske (Rick); her sister-in-law Verna; and her nieces and nephews, Jessica, Ella, Ryan and Norman.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter in Karen's honor.
