The family announces the passing of Janet L. Nelson of Clearfield, Pennsylvania on August 28, 2026. Janet, born on November 28, 1933, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, A. Lee Sunderland and Flora Sunderland (Williams); her husband Sherman L. Nelson; her daughter Rev. Karen L. Rhone; her grandson Rev. Joshua Rhone; and her siblings, Emory'Bill'Sunderland, Raymond Sunderland, Horace Sunderland, Merle Sunderland and Annabelle Pritts.
She is survived by: her son Kim A. Nelson (Deborah); her son-in-law Rev. Douglas Rhone; and her grandchildren, Andrew Nelson (Ashley), Matthew Nelson, Zachary Rhone (Maria) and Caitlin Colesar (Nick). She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church (1010 Dorey St, Clearfield, PA 16830).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 1010 Dorey Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
