With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley E. Shaffer of Clearfield, Pennsylvania, who passed away on February 7, 2026 at the age of 89. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Shirley E. Shaffer to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John O. Welsh and Lulu S. Welsh (Heller); her siblings, Willis, Wayne, Dale, Charles, Floyd, Robert Welsh and Dorothy Mauk; and her half-siblings, Oral, Ernest, Clint Welsh, Madge Howe, Geraldine Vasbinder, Helen Wolfe and Florence Macuga.
She is survived by: her children, Kimberly Dickinson (Joseph) of Chesapeake, VA and Stephen Shaffer (Wendy) of Curwensville; her grandchildren, Joshua Shaffer, Benjamin Shaffer and Amanda Ruffner Johnson; and her great grandchildren, Corbyn, Clara and Amelia Johnson. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Trinity United Methodist Church United Women in Faith, 121 S. Second Street, Clearfield, PA 16830 or a charity of the donor's choice.
