Dorothy DeWire Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on January 16, 2026, Dorothy DeWire in Coaldale, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Franklin E. "Brutt" DeWire; her parents, William Derr and Clara Derr (Price); and her siblings, Jean Everett, Florence Bonner, Martin, William and Thomas Derr.

She is survived by: her sons, Gary DeWire (Brenda) of Berwick and Brian DeWire of Hometown; her grandchildren, Deana DeWire (Allen Swanson) of Montana, Tiffany Lombardi (William Lombardi) of Hatfield and Joshua DeWire of Lehighton; her great grandchildren, Abby, Gavin, Grace Lombardi, Franklin Swanson, Jacob and Cora DeWire; and her sisters, Thelma Paul of California, Nancy Schuchart of Hometown and Mary Reed of Tamaqua. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
