He was predeceased by: his wife Ann "Sissy" Gardner (Paulus); his parents, Edward Gardner and Anna Gardner (Faas); and his siblings, Ralph, Harold Gardner, Edith and Adele Gardner.
He is survived by: his sister Claire Verbitsky of Hobe Sound, Florida; and his caregiver Joseph Paulus (Marlene) of Coaldale.
