It is with sadness that the passing of Janis Lynn McElwee of Coatesville, Pennsylvania is shared. Janis, born on November 10, 1954, passed away on July 4, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Janis will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. Friends and family will honor Janis by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence she had in their lives. Though Janis is no longer present, the bonds she created and the experiences shared will endure. Janis’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew her.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Spence Symons and Jean Elizabeth Symons. She is survived by: her husband R. Robert McElwee; her children, Richard James McElwee of Downingtown, PA and Jeannie Lynn McKown (Matthew) of Coatesville, PA.; her pet Dixie; and her friends, Bonnie August and Donna Laird.
