She was predeceased by: her parents, John DeLeo and Alphy DeLeo; and her sister Christine DeLeo. She is survived by: her siblings, Mary Lee Salerno and John DeLeo, Jr.; and her siblings' children, Gina Salerno, Emily Salerno, Adam Salerno and Benjamin DeLeo.
Upon her resignation, the Administration praised her contributions, stating, "you will leave a gap that would be extremely hard to fill...and noted her "contributions to the school, community and students were extraordinary.".
