It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Edward Joseph Nearey Sr. of Colwyn, Pennsylvania, born in Darby, Pennsylvania, who passed away on August 29, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Nearey and Mary Nearey; and his siblings, Joseph E. Nearey, Katheryn Shinn (Butch) and Patricia Scarcelli (Rich).

He is survived by: his wife Shirley A. Nearey; his children, Laureen (Joe Miller), Edward J. Nearey, Jr. and Neil P. Nearey; his brother Thomas Nearey (Betty); his grandchildren, Joseph, Jena, Lauren, Natalie Nearey, Gina, Neil, Jesse and Nikki Quintela; and his pet Buddy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
