He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Ila Jane Diehl of Hopewell; his grandparents, John and Florence Hoffman; his wife Mary Ann Hoffman (Worthing); his children, R. Dustin Hoffman (Michelle) of Bedford and Amanda Smith (Andrew) of Evansville, IN; his grandson Duncan Smith; and his pet Sophie.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, August 26th 2026 from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM at the Bedford Forge Community Church (384 Jacks Corner Rd, Hopewell, PA 16650). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 26th 2026 at 5:30 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Bedford Forge Community Church "Building Fund".
