He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Brooks and Virginia Hartz Brooks; his son John E. Brooks, Jr. (Tanny); his siblings, Jim Brooks and Virginia Wills; and his brothers-in-law, Tom Gallentine, Richard Wills, Ray Auer and Lester Auer.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Brooks (Auer); his children, Pamela Brooks (Bob Bowman), Connie Peck (Rick Hickle), Terry Brooks (Beth), Kelli Brooks, Randy Brooks (Erica Shaffer), Richard and Punky; his grandchildren, Carrie Skelton, Christina Oakley, Tiffany Lamberth, William Lamberth, John Peck (Chrissy), Jessica Smith (Justin), Samantha Brooks, Krista Polanofsky, Alexis Brooks, Blake Brooks and Brandi Brooks (D. J.); his great grandchildren, Mikayla, Grayson, Ellianna, Aaliah, Angelina, Jerimiah, Kaziah, Malakaye, Logan, Brantley, Cole, Caleb, Ava and Weston; his siblings, Judy Gallentine and Ronald Brooks; and his siblings-in-law, Melvin Auer and Elaine Osborn (Ralph). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Brooks Funeral Home - Connellsville (111 E Green St, Connellsville, PA 15425). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
