He was predeceased by: his mother Kathleen Robinson Washington; and his cousins, Marlon, Dennis and Victor Sykes. He is survived by: his children, Raecyne Bechtold, Melvin Curtiss Washington Jr. (Kristi), Monica Valentine (Antony), Corbin Washington and Candra Jones (James); his sisters, Claudette Hatcher (Simeon) and Paulette Reed (Barry White); and his former wife Valarie Reynolds Washington. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews.
